The Minutes of the Meeting of the
MAYSVILLE-MASON CO. AREA CHAMBER OF COMMERCE
BOARD OF DIRECTOR'S MEETING
June 3, 2010
Present: David Cartmell, Cara Clarke, Tom Coe, Lynn David, Bob Hendrickson, Denise Lewis, Harry Mann, Michael Parker, Larry Poe, Sue Rose, Suzan Ross, Jim Trapp and Denise Wietelmann.
Absent: Nicole George, Mark Kachler, Amy Kennedy, David Lawrence, Gary Mac Mitchell, Norlene Rice, Robert Roe, David Swolsky and Steve Zweigart.
Michael Parker, vice-chairman, welcomed everyone and called the meeting of the Maysville-Mason Co. Area Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors to order at 8:30 am. He then introduced Jim Trapp as our new board member and announced that Suzan Ross is now a member of the Chamber Executive Committee.
Michael asked the Board members to review the minutes from the March 31, 2010 meeting. Motion to accept, Harry Mann, second, Tom Coe. Motion carried.
Sue Rose, Treasurer, gave an overview of the financial report dated April 30, 2010. Motion to
accept, Lynn David, second Larry Poe. Motion approved.
Old Business:
Vicki Steigleder, Executive Director stated the Buffalo Trails MultiSport Races are finished and were successful. There has been considerable positive feedback from racers and community.
Vicki mentioned the Downtown Map Project that was approved by the Board, has a map of downtown that was developed by BTADD. It will be placed at the Second Street Mall. The cost should be less than originally thought.
Vicki presented information in reference to the committees that were developed at the Strategic Planning Session. She then passed around a sign-up sheet for those in attendance to volunteer to work on the different committees.
New Business:
Vicki said that the Constant Contact, an email marketing tool, which she learned of at the spring conference of the KCCE, is free to our Chamber and can be acquired by our members at a 25% discount. She stated that we will be working on putting it in place soon.
Upcoming Events:
June 9th – Helping Your Team Work, 8:15 am and 11:45 am Sessions, Buffalo Trace District Health Department, $25 per person.
June 11th - Ribbon Cutting, Dr. William Kumler, Meadowview, 3rd floor office, 2 pm
June 17th – Sales Lead Marketing Luncheon, deSha’s, 11:45 am, $12 per person
August 5th – Chamber Board Meeting, 8:30 am, Chamber Office
Announcements:
Tom Coe announced that the Rotary Club, through the Lexington Rotary have partnered with the Equestrian Games to provide volunteers to earn credit for Rotary. He mentioned that if someone registers, Rotary gets credit and they volunteer will receive a free pass for another day of the games.
Tom Coe announced that on May 22nd, the March for Babies had a great turnout and will raise approximately $48 to $51 thousand dollars.
The meeting was adjourned at 9:08 am.
